The History of Medines

Medines Collision Center has a proud history and family legacy of serving the Baton Rouge area. It began when Emile Medine returned from the Korean War and began to do auto body work. As he learned more and progressed to running the overall operation of a shop, he went into business for himself. What is aptly named the “Blue Building”, across from Medines Collision Center’s current facility, became Medine’s Auto Body Shop in the summer of 1965.

When Emile retired in 1988, his son Chris took over the business. As the business evolved, and with an eye to the future that included local advertising and a website, Chris changed the name to Medines Collision Center, representing the full range of skills and services they offered. 

Chris’ experience in the industry began when he was 12 years old, as his father opened the business. You could find him in the shop when he wasn’t in school, and he began working there as a sophomore in high school. In 1971 Chris went to LSU to study accounting, but took some time away to help his father in 1972. He started off handling the paint work, eventually expanding to other skills, and the rest is history. 

Today, Chris, along with his wife Dominica, and son Jesse continue to provide the highest quality collision repair services, as well as a commitment to representing, protecting, and advocating for their customers when it comes their insurance rights. Take control. Choose Medines.
